Cricut – Party Hats, Pawty Hats
Hi guys welcome back to my channel
Avanti Morocha. Today I’m going to show you how to make party hat. you can make them for your kids or your pets. I’m going to make them for my dog. Now, let’s begin For this project, you can use any material you have around your house. I’m going to do this project for my dogs; for that reason, I got this paper at the craft store. However, it’s thin paper, so I’m going to use medium weight cardstock as a backing. You can also use cardstock like this one, by Cricut. I’m going to use foil craft board, glitter cardstock scraps, decorative ribbons, pom poms, glue, and a stapler. For this project, I’m going to use a Cricut Access “ready to make project” and modify it based on my preferences If you have any questions on how Cricut Access works, leave them in the comment section. Go back to Cricut Design Space, click on projects. As you can see, there is a large variety of projects to choose from. You can use any of the projects that have the letter “a” in the corner. Go to the search box and type party hat. There are a lot of party hats projects; one thing that most of them have in common is that they use this hat pattern or this one. Choose the one you like. I’m going to use this project and modify it based on my preference. Click on customize. This project has 4 four layers. I made a test cut of this piece to see if it’ll fit my small dog head. It works great; now I’m going to save this project with another name, I’m going to make a couple of modifications. Since this one is a text layer, you can type another number. I’m going to use 5; my dog is going to turn five. I prefer a number with a thicker stroke since Cricut doesn’t have an offset tool. I’m going to look for an image in Cricut Access. Go to images, type the number “5” in the search box. I’m going to use this one Insert the image. This image has three layers; I’m going to delete one. These layers are set to print then cut. I’m going to change the line type to cut. Modify the dimensions. Delete this text. I’m going to look for another image of a bone; I want something curvier. I’m going to use this one As you can see, it has two layers. I’m going to delete one. I’m going to change the color to white Modify the dimensions. Delete the other piece. Ungroup these layers. These two pieces are going to be cut in the same material but with different colors. Even though you see the same color at this moment, this is going to change when cutting. Click on make it. As you can see, there are three cuts Here you can visualize where is each piece is going to be cut in the mat. Continue. Select the material. I’m going to use the Holographic kraft board. I’ve already loaded the fine point blade in clamp B, now load the mat. As you can see, I place two pieces of kraft board in the area where I know they’re going to be cut. Load the mat and start the job. I fast-forwarded this part of the video, the process to cut these images took 1minute and 30 seconds. Continue with the second cut. I’m going to change the material. Click on browse all material and click on glitter cardstock. I have the blade in place, and now I’m going to load the mat Load the mat and start the job. I fast-forwarded this part of the video; the process to cut this image took 40 seconds. Continue with the third cut. I’m going to change the material to paper. I have the blade in place, and now I’m going to load the mat. Load the mat and start the job. I fast-forwarded this part of the video; the process to cut this image took 40 seconds. Now I’m going to make second piece, but this time I’m using medium weight cardstock I have the blade in place, and now I’m going to load the mat I fast-forwarded this part of the video; the process to cut this image took 35 seconds. I have all the pieces here; it’s time to make the hat. As I mentioned at the beginning, I’m only using a backing piece because the pattern paper I got is thin. Glue these two pieces together. Glue these two pieces Assemble the hat. To ensure the hat keeps the shape, I’m going to use a staple. Place the elastic. Cut a piece that works with your child or pet. For my dog, a 10″ long piece is excellent. Make two holes and tie it Glue a decorative ribbon around the hat. I recommend using hot glue. Glue a pompom on top. Glue the rest of the pieces. The hat is done if you don’t have time to make it you can buy one from my Etsy shop.
